The Saturday obligation

Momentum of life's flow that feels like an obligation

On weekdays, life is fast for obvious reasons. There are things to be done. Meetings to be attended. Commitments to be lived up to.

It’s hard doing anything at your own pace because the next thing is standing right outside the doortep like an expectant creditor you can’t stop worrying about.

On Saturdays, thinks should be different, no? There aren’t as many obligations. Often, there aren’t any. You should be able to have a lazy breakfast and a nice shower and enjoy doing things.

That’s where the time-sinks come in. Especially the ones dressed up in the skin of productivity. A pipeline to optimise CV creation and application management. Exploring OpenCode. Whatnot.

There’s always something just waiting to lay a claim to your time, isn’t it? And you? Well, over the years you have given in to the idea that this is how things are and this is how they are going to be.

So when you’re done with what was a nice breakfast by all accounts, the thought of taking a long shower feels like blasphemy. All the Chatgpt conversations and the langgraph nodes waiting for me.

Let’s go. It’s going to be a long, busy day.

If it resonated, you know what to do.
