Edit: I first thought this was a profound discovery. When I mentioned this to my wife, she told me that it’s the default human state. This is what anyone would prefer too. So much for my intellectualisation.
I believe there are two different kind of people. Those who jump into a task, and those who prepare, batch, plan, decide to execute, make sure they’re fully ready to execute, then go ahead with the plan, then regroup, assess, revise, and revisit if the external circumstances are still conducive.
I belong to the latter. My wife to the former. All the research and the analysis and the planmaking helps me tackle things which would otherwise be untenable. At the same time, this is utterly counterproductive when it comes to dusting a table.
Now, multiply this by fifty and you have a recipe for a procrastinating husband and a busy wife bzz bzz bzzing nearby.
It’s not your sympathy I seek. It’s your understanding?
P.S. I do see merit in developing this idea further. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a system for doing so.
