I haven’t written in a few days. Last time that happened I said I was sick. This time, I wasn’t sick.
It’s a failure of habit. It’s a failure of momentum. It’s a failure of systems.
That’s what it is.
It takes a lot of time for me to actually go ahead and set this file up. It’s not easy.
I have to navigate to the folder these files reside in. Then I have to open one of the existing files, which opens in VSCode, which - at least mentally - takes a lot of time to boot up.
After that. After that, I have to copy the text in the file. Create a new file. Paste the text there. Clean it up by removing the old header and descriptions.
Then, and only then, can I start thinking and writing.
Instead, I want an icon on my desktop or something.
A thing I can double click and it opens a template file in the right application. With the right boilerplate text. And with the right file format and everything.
All that I’m expected to do here is save it after writing my thoughts down.
And then, of course, there’s the github. I need an icon for that as well. It’s still a little easier compared to creating and saving this file.
Don’t difficulty-ify what’s already difficult.
A lesson for me. In life.
