There is a particular pleasure in a place that asks nothing of you. No accounts, no feeds, no little red numbers. Just words, set carefully on a page, waiting.
This site is that place. It is built to disappear — the glass, the gradients, the typography all exist to get out of the way the moment you start reading.
The one rule
Everything here starts as a plain file. A .md or .txt file, dropped into a folder, pushed to a repository. That’s the entire publishing pipeline:
- Put a file in
content/musings/and it lives in the Musings section - Put a file in
content/technology/and it lives in Technology - New folder, new section — the site figures it out
No database, no CMS, no dashboard between thinking a thought and shipping it.
What a file knows about itself
A post can carry a small frontmatter block — title, date, tags, a description. Or it can carry nothing at all. The filename can whisper a date (2026-08-28-welcome...), the first heading can become the title, the first good sentence becomes the summary. The file is interpreted, never interrogated.
Why it looks like this
The design is glass over gradient — but the reading column is a single quiet serif, about seventy characters wide, sized for essays in the 200 to 1000 word range. Long enough to have a shape, short enough to finish with your tea.
If a post resonates, there’s a small heart at the bottom. That’s the whole social system.
Writing that survives is writing that was easy to publish.
More worlds to come.
